Nail Your Vulnerability

Poetry
Side B
A spare, unsettling poem from 2013 on public self-exposure — nailing vulnerability to closed doors, removing your face, and what it costs to perform authenticity for an audience.

nail your vulnerability
on the closed doors
of public forums,

remove your face.

smile for the camera
tilt just so
to show a good side,

disguise your blemishes
and call it natural.

sell sex for free,
claiming will and power,
pay tax in emptiness

forget how it feels,
anything
to remember.
